MEET THE THERAPIST
Let me introduce myself
Jillian Wing is a Speech-Language Pathologist specializing in autism, neurodivergent communication and pragmatic communication. She serves children, teens, and young adults throughout Vancouver, Camas, East Vancouver, Salmon Creek, and surrounding Southwest Washington communities, as as the Portland area.
She earned her Bachelor of Sciences in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the University of Washington in Seattle, WA and then moved south to complete a Masters of Science in Speech Language Pathology from Portland State University. She has always been drawn to working with children and teens and has focused her career on pediatric and neurodivergent communication.
Jillian has worked across medical and private practice settings, providing individual and group therapy, and serving on autism diagnostic teams. These experiences shaped her approach to care and helped her recognize a gap in traditional service models: many children and teens have meaningful communication needs that don't fit neatly into standardized test scores or insurance-based qualification criteria. Jillian believes families shouldn't have to wait for a child to "qualify" for support before their concerns are taken seriously.
Her practice is intentionally designed to provide individualized, private-pay care for families seeking specialized expertise and a more personalize approach. She takes time to understand the whole person and not simply test scores or a diagnosis- and works collaboratively with clients and families to identify meaningful goals that translate into everyday life.
Jillian is passionate about supporting Autistic and Neurodivergent communicators. She makes it a point to learn and listen to Autistic (#actuallyautistic) perspectives. She is a trauma-informed clinician who believes that trust, autonomy, and genuine connection are foundational to meaningful therapeutic work.
In addition to her clinical practice, Jillian is also an adjunct instructor at Pacific University in the Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology program, where she teaches the autism course. She is passionate about helping prepare the next generation of speech-language pathologists to provide knowledgeable, ethical and genuinely neurodiversity-affirming care.
Jillian holds speech-language pathology licenses in Washington and Oregon and is ASHA certified.
Outside of work, Jillian lives in Portland with her two children and large cat. She enjoys yoga, baking and hiking, but has forgotten what spare time is after having her children.
